For this rig I used the Tict M Caro.
This is an ideal rig for catching fish on super lightweight jigheads at range. The Caro is an inline weight that you attach to your leader, which can either be floating, slow sinking or fast sinking, and then have a small swivel that has another section of your leader that you attach your jig head to. So it is a Carolina Rig, but the weight used is different.

This is ideal for getting those sub-2 gram jigheads out at a further distance, so you can work your lure of choice at a range that you normally wouldn’t be able to cast out to. This can therefore increase your chances of catching fish further out, and working your lure in the water for longer. These cylindrical tubes come in various weight ranges and lengths, meaning you can be best prepared for getting your jig head out where the fish are feeding. It’s often trial and error to get the exact model you need.

Designed mainly for catching pelagic species, they work incredibly well for mackerel, scad, garfish, herring and many other types of smaller or more delicate mouthed fish, that you may struggle to take a heavier and usually larger jig head.

It’s worth getting used to working jig heads first before using this rig so as to get the technique right with how you want the lure to move and when you’ve gained some confidence, you can then start using the Caro.
